Omaraha
Omaraha is an Estonian peer-to-peer consumer lending platform, founded in 2011 and based in Haapsalu. Finantsinspektsioon licensed the operator, Omaraha OÜ, as a credit intermediary on 29 February 2016 under licence 4.1-1/22, covering the intermediation of credit to consumers. Investors fund personal loans of 50 to 10,000 euros to borrowers in Estonia and Slovakia, and once an investment profile is set the platform concludes the loan agreements without asking again. There is no secondary market. Every unsecured loan pays up to 4 percent of its amount into a warranty fund, which pays investors between 50 and 80 percent of the outstanding balance when a borrower defaults, depending on how the fund compares to the problem loans. For loans concluded since 27 March 2025, a loan more than 90 days overdue passes to the platform, which then owes at least half of the balance. The warranty fund is not a state guarantee scheme, and secured loans are outside it.
