Axiafunder
AxiaFunder is a British litigation funding platform, operated by Champerty Limited, which was incorporated in London in December 2016 and opened the platform to investors in January 2019. Every case or portfolio of claims is funded through its own Scottish limited partnership: investors buy units in that partnership and receive a share of what it recovers, after an upfront fee of 7 to 10 percent of the sum invested and AxiaFunder's 20 percent of the partnership's net return. The FCA authorised Champerty Limited on 10 January 2023 under reference number 968527, with requirements that restrict it to litigation financing and bar it from holding client money. Offers are open only to investors who certify as professional, as certified high net worth or as self-certified sophisticated under the FCA's rules. A secondary market lets investors offer holdings in running cases to other investors, from 1,000 pounds and at a fee of 2.5 percent on each side. There is no buyback guarantee: money comes back only when a case settles, and a lost case can cost the entire investment.
